AS ITS REPRESENTATIVE IN TURKIYE
As part of its efforts to build-up a presence in the fast-growing Turkish economy, Rothschild, the leading international investment bank, is pleased to announce Dr. Yılmaz Argüden as its Representative in Turkiye. Dr. Yılmaz Argüden, a leading strategist, advisor and independent board member of several prominent companies, had been serving as a senior advisor to Rothschild since 2005.
Family-controlled Rothschild is amongst the leading international investment banks with over 200 years of banking expertise, employing over 3000 employees in 25 offices around the world. As part of its strategy to render high quality specialist advice to large corporations, prominent family businesses and successful entrepreneurs, Rothschild has already developed an active presence in the Turkish Mergers & Acquisitions market. Recently, Rothschild has been the advisor to the Turkish Government on privatization options for Turk Telecom, merger of Aycell & Aria, and sale of Telsim. Rothschild has also been the advisor to the Çolakoğlu family in selling part of their shares in Türk Ekonomi Bank to BNP Paribas and to GE Consumer Finance in its purchase of shares of Garanti Bank, and more recently to Dexia on the pending acquisition of Denizbank.
Dr. Argüden has a broad experience in Strategy and Business Excellence. As the Chairman of a leading management consulting firm, ARGE, he has been advising key institutions on business strategy, management quality, and corporate structuring. He has led the Turkish Privatization Program at its initial stages and served as the Chief Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister.
Dr. Argüden is also an Adjunct Professor of Business Strategy at the Bosphorus University and at the MBA program of the Koç University. He is also a columnist focusing on business and strategy issues.
Dr. Argüden is a widely recognized social entrepreneur, seeking to improve the quality of life in the community. As the Chairman of the Turkish Quality Association, he initiated the National Quality Movement to improve the management effectiveness of private, public, and civil society institutions throughout Turkey by promoting TQM philosophy. As the Chairman of Turkish-American Business Council and the Turkish-Canadian Business Council he has been a leader in developing bilateral business relations. As a Founding Board Member of the independent Turkish think-tank, Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) he has been a staunch promoter of public policy analysis. As a Founding Board Member of The Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), he has been active in improving the quality of education by improving delivery systems and content development. As the Founding Vice-Chairman of Corporate Volunteers Council (CVC) he is active in promoting corporate social responsibility and volunteerism.
He is an Eisenhower Fellow. Also, he was selected by the World Economic Forum, as a “Global Leader for Tomorrow” for his commitment to improving the state of the world (1999).
