Dr. Argüden has also been instrumental in the establishment of the Corporate Volunteers Council to encourage individuals with management experience to contribute their time on a voluntary basis to NGOs. The condition for support is adherence to good governance principles by the NGO. Also, companies participating in this endeavor undertake to evaluate these voluntary contributions by their employees in their annual performance reviews, and undertake to pulicly share the amount of volunteer work their employees accomplish. He has led an effort to establish an award scheme to promote volunteerism in the corporate world.
