He has graduated from the Bosphorus University (formerly, Robert College, the first American College outside the US) as the only student to receive both the Top Graduating Engineer (highest GPA) and President’s Recognition Award for student leadership. He has also played on the University's basketball team, which won the Turkish Championship twice during university years.

He has served as the Chairman of the Bosphorus University Alumni Association, BUMED, when "Civil Society supported University" model was developed. He also served as an Adjuct Professor of Business Strategy at the Financial Managers Development Certificate Program of the Bophorus University.
